The Waterway hot tub pump union has threads referenced as 2” with an actual inside diameter of 3” and a slip end designed to fit over 2” PVC flex hose or fittings with a 2” spigot end. The slip end of this union is designed to fit over a fitting with a 2” spigot end or schedule 40 PVC pipe or flex hose referenced as 2” with an actual outside diameter of 2-3/8”. It's important to note that in the pool and hot tub industry, plumbing dimensions are referred to as nominal sizes rather than actual sizes.
